Baby bedding gifts

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

When you’ve a new arrival, particularly when it’s your first, you can pretty much take it for granted that you’ll find heaps of crib bedding being offered from all your relatives.

Much as you may think this is a very welcome assistance at what’s generally a pretty expensive time, don’t forget that much of what’s on offer will be anything up to a couple of generations old and therefore can often fall a long way short of current safety standards. For example, you’ll rarely come across anti-allergic pillows and mattresses more than 10 or 15 years old. Likewise, there are less noticeable aspects such as the distance between the bars on the cot.

So, much as it might sound cute and traditional to use your granny’s cot for your new baby, do take account of the safety aspects.

Fat burners: all the rage

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

Amongst the diet pills by far the most popular at the moment seem to be the fat burners.

The best fat burners basically work by effectively turning up your metabolism so that you use up the fat much quicker than normal. What you’ll find is that for the most part these products aren’t just fat burners as they include a number of other ingredients designed to assist you in various ways with losing weight eg you’ll usually find that there are some feel-good ingredients so that you don’t get depressed with the time it’s taking for the product to work.

What you always need to watch with these, as with all medication, is that you’re not allergic to the ingredients used or that they don’t cause any unwanted side-effects (for example, some of the metabolism enhancers include caffeine and may cause the jitters).

Heading for Barbados?

Friday, September 19th, 2008

Let’s face it, many of us would like to be heading for Barbados, but where would you stay when you’re there?

For most people, the answer is sure to be a hotel in one of the complexes or perhaps in the town. However, that’s just throwing away one of the greatest aspects of the island which is that it’s beautiful and the best way to see that beauty is to look into Barbados villa rentals rather than hotels. These give you the possibility of staying in some truly fantastic spots on the island and, in some cases, you can pretty much have the place to yourself.

More expensive than a hotel option? Well, yes, if you just look at the price but remember that you won’t need to eat out all the time if you’ve your own villa and that can give you substantial savings and if your party is more than 3 or 4 then it can often be cheaper in a villa.
