The problem with insurance is that although we all know that we need it, we generally don’t want to think about it.
Thus we have loads of insurance advertising that’s there not so much to actually sell you insurance but to remind you that you need it. Which goes some way to explaining some of the truly peculiar insurance advertising that sometimes gets put out.
What is a hassle though is that the different terms used by the various insurance companies makes choosing between them a whole lot more difficult than it really needs to be. And those terms change over time too. For instance, our current house insurance company broke ranks with the standard £50 excess on claims and took it up to £450 (rather quietly as is the way with downgrades in the terms) which makes what was previously an excellent policy an also-ran one and therefore I’ll be shopping around come the renewal date.

We’re getting on for half-way through the improvements in our kitchen now and starting to think about the bathroom at the moment.
That’s one that’s going to be even more hassle than the kitchen was. At least there, the builders were largely outside the main house and could pretty much be ignored. You can’s really do that with the bathroom as it’s very much at the centre of the house.
What we’re thinking about is one of the wetroom styles which means that everything from the bath through to the light fixtures needs to be replaces. The grand plan was to look round some bathroom fittings places over the Christmas break but somehow the last couple of weeks just seem to have disappeared!

Although you may not have all your insurance renewals scheduled for January 1st, that dead time between Christmas and the New Year is a great time to look into scheduling new life insurance quotes and all your other insurance for that matter.
It’s almost always possible to schedule in a new quotation for several months in the future and this dead time is a really great time to do just that. Hardly anyone is using the quotation systems at the moment so your quote will go through much faster and the reminder quotation will turn up just when you need it.
