Just how do you go about moving home?
For most people, it’s a matter of looking up a moving company and letting them loose on it.
However, there’s another option: truck rental. Not only is this usually cheaper but it gives you a whole lot more control over the move and can be more relaxing too. Relaxing? Surely not? Actually, yes, because since you can rent the truck for a day or two more than you really need for the journey it’s possible to spread the packing time over several days rather than cram it all into the one day as generally happens with traditional moving companies.
Don’t underestimate the amount of work involved though! This is one time when you want to be able to call on friends and family at either end of the trip. But for me the biggest plus point was the feeling of adventure as we pulled out of the driveway….
