I’ve finally gotten around to skimming through the materials for the child development course which means that I’m at that scary point of thinking “wow, that’s a BIG course” and not really knowing where to start.

But, seeing as this is a psychology course, they’ve made a point of applying their knowledge of educational psychology with the course. Therefore, there are all the little reassuring texts to calm you down and naturally it starts off at a reasonable pace.

The problem with that is that there’s even more material to read right at the start than there would normally be, mostly reiterating things that are said in other parts of the initial course material.

What seems to be a little off is their estimate of how long it will take to do the course. If my reading of it is right it should take about 12 hours to go through each week of the course but I seem to be getting on for half way through the first week already and that’s going at a relatively sedate pace this morning.
