Sorting your life out

Now and again it’s always worthwhile to sit back and have a stocktake of your life and what’s happening in it.

How are those grand plans that you had 10 years ago coming along? Did you achieve your dreams, or at least are you on the way to achieving them? If you’re not, are those dreams still relevant to your life today?

Much as planning out our whole life would be very boring, if there’s something that you’d really love to be doing in ten years time, it’s important to set down the things that you need to do in the meantime to make that happen. If you don’t do that it’s very easy to find ten years down the line that your dream life is no closer to being achieved than it was ten years earlier.

On a short term basis, quite sadly, a lot of people end up in drug rehab and shorter term goals are important to getting out of that. It’s a time when you need to re-examine your life, where it should be and how you can start on the road to getting there. The time frame for that is usually much shorter than the ten year “grand plan” but it’s an episode along the way to that.
