The best way to hold your TV up
In times gone by it used to be that you just plonked your latest TV on the coffee table but ’tis a long time since that was a really viable option.
The problem, of course, is the sheer size of some of the TVs around these days. You can easily find that the new TV stretches well past the bounds of the trusty old coffee table and besides is a touch too heavy to use that table anyway.
Not only that but the huge LCD style TVs and all the gadgets that we connect these days just don’t fit well with normal furniture. Thus ’tis best to look towards specialised mounts for your new TV. One thing to check if you’re intending to mount it directly onto a wall is that the wall is up to holding it: don’t try this with a wood frame wall and a really big TV unless you want to get the builders in right after you let go!
